"Stanley The Shoebill Stork"
Character & Concept Design
Stanley is a character concept developed as a part of an educational project while attending UNCSA for a new graduate program in Animatronics. He was developed in a digital pipeline (Photoshop Illustration > Zbrush > Keyshot > Photoshop Finishing), but the character's form started as a collection of cut paper that formed his silhouette.
The process of creating a dynamic composition for a static character is one that animators have used for many years, and was introduced to me by Doug Griffith- a long-time Imagineer and 3D Artist.
Below, you can find the full concept deck along with development benchmarks.
